As a student-athlete, I value the opportunities that Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) activities provide, and I am committed to maintaining compliance with all applicable laws, Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) rules, and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) standards. This page outlines the principles I follow to ensure that every opportunity is reviewed and managed responsibly.

NIL Compliance Highlights

  • No Pay-for-Play: All NIL agreements are not contingent on athletic performance and do not influence school selection, enrollment, or team participation.
  • No Use of School/OSAA Marks: NIL promotions will never include school or OSAA logos, uniforms, or branding.
  • Independent Agreements: All opportunities are self-negotiated or managed with the guidance of my family, and are not arranged by coaches, schools, or booster organizations.
  • Full Disclosure: All NIL agreements are disclosed to my school’s compliance authorities as required by OSAA rules, even though they are not required to be submitted to OSAA directly.
  • Transparency Commitment: While OSAA does not collect or maintain public NIL agreements, I voluntarily commit to transparency to demonstrate good faith and accountability.

NCAA Considerations (Future College Participation)

  • No Implication of College Affiliation: Any appearance of collegiate apparel or logos in media is incidental and does not imply affiliation, endorsement, or a recruiting commitment.
  • Respect for NCAA Standards: NIL activities will not involve unauthorized use of college intellectual property or suggest endorsement by a university.
  • Independent Compliance: Until NCAA policies evolve (such as proposed settlements that may expand school involvement), NIL agreements will remain independently managed and disclosed in line with current rules.

Prohibited Endorsement Categories

I will not pursue NIL opportunities with companies or industries that conflict with high school, OSAA, or NCAA restrictions, including but not limited to:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco or vaping products
  • Gambling or betting services
  • Adult or sexually explicit businesses
  • Firearms or weapons manufacturers

These exclusions align with both OSAA expectations and common NCAA compliance standards.

My approach to NIL is grounded in integrity, transparency, and respect for the rules that govern amateur athletics. Each opportunity is carefully reviewed to ensure that it aligns with OSAA regulations, NCAA guidelines, and my personal values.
